Just a little vanity

One of Beaumotro's most adorable readers (Jill C) has asked for a little advice on a bedroom desk that could double as a vanity, in her new apartment.

I love this assignment. I think a desk-vanity goes a long way toward creating--as Virginia Woolf might agree--"A Room of One's Own." Your own cozy all-in-one nook, that's both personal and functional.

Parsons tables make great desk-vanities (see intro photo). Their shape is classic and they can always moonlight, down the road, as a sofa table, or an entry way piece. West Elm has beautiful ones, here, in several colors and sizes.

This desk from Room & Board offers great style and storage:

This one from Target is super affordable, but looks like it could be a family heirloom:
A fun stool can add unexpected flair to basic bones. All three of these are priced right and available online at Urban Outfitters:

And don't forget lamps, mirrors and trays. They really polish the look:

Thanks for the ideas Anitra! I love the backless seat/bench idea. Definitely makes the look more "vanityesque". Will be adding one ASAP! :)
